The Rarest Game in my Collection

So my collection isn't as large as many gamers but, I do have one game that I believe is both extremely rare and great fun to play. I have played a friends copy and not on the one I own. This game is Blood Bowl: Team Manager (2011).

The game is out of print so I was very happy to find a 'second-hand' copy on eBay at a decent price. When it arrived however, much to my surprise it was still in shrink wrap and had never been played. A mint copy, my lucky day!!! Although, it does mean that I now can't play this edition as I don't want to open it up (>_<)......maybe not so lucky as the game is really fun and I want to play it again!!

I would love to track down copies of the even rarer expansions in English, there's plenty of these on eBay in Italian but, that's no good to me haha. I can order a beer or a pizza in Italian but, that is about it. Mainly that is from hand gestures and a bit of the classic English shouting. "PIZZZAAAA PLEAAASSSEEEE!!!" (not really what I did when in Rome but, what a lot of English people do abroad embarrassingly).

This game is like it's 'older brother', Blood Bowl the Warhammer miniatures game, although this is a card game. Each player tries to enter the different football matches each round by selecting a location but, there is a maximum of 2 players per game and each game has different win bonusses and also bonusses for coming second. Once places are chosen each player plays cards from their hand to try to manipulate the ball in the their teams side of the game. Winners get better bonuses and losers also get some form of prize. This continues in rounds until the final game of the season. At the end of the season the player with the most fans is announced the winner.

The art of the game is really well done and engaging, lots of blood, bone tokens and well thought out powers. The game involves cheating, attacking, blocking and all sorts of other crazy tactics. Each team have their own special skills making the replay value high. I have played a friends copy of this game before I managed to get my own (......my precious) copy and it's a really fun game that is not talked about by many people for unknown reasons (unknown to me anyway).

Have you played this one? What is your favourite rare game from your collection?

Thanks for reading this post!!
